Please read your warranty box from Dogtra.

They have a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

You will need to send your collar and transmitter to the manufacturer for repair

Labor is covered for one to two years after your invoice date depending on the manufacturing company.  When the labor period has ended all repairs by Dogtra will include a labor charge.

To qualify for your warranty, please make sure to fill out the registration card that comes with your unit and mail it to the manufacturer along with a copy of your receipt withtin 30 day of the day you purchase.  You can also register your product online.  Use http://www.dogtra.com.  Please click on the warranty registration link and follow the guides.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you do not complete the warranty registration within 30 day from the date you purchase the warranty is void and repairs will be charged labor and parts fees.

If you need your unit repaired, follow the following procedure.

Shipping to send the unit to Dogtra for warranty work is the owner's responsibility.  The cost to return the unit back to you will be paid for by the manufacturer only if the unit is returned in the continental United States.

No loaner units will be provided nor any form of compensation while the unit is being repaired.  Silver Creek/My Dog Collar nor Dogtra is responsible for loss of training time or inconvenience while the unit is in for repair work.

You will need to provide a copy of your sales receipt before warranty work will begin.

You will need to give a brief explanation of the problem with the unit.  Include your name, address, city, state, zip, phone number including a cell phone where you can be reached.

You can also go to www.dogtra.com and look for their Service Request Form and print it and follow the instructions.  If the repairs are not covered under warranty the manufacturer will call you to obtain a credit card number to cover the costs of repairs.

Keeping your dog safe
Before using an electronic collar on your dog you should check several safety and health issues.  Make sure your dog is healthy.  If he or she has not had a vet check in the last year you may want to get him checked.  They should be in good physical as well as mental health before and during any electronic collar training.

Electronic training collars are not recommended for dogs weighing less than 12 pounds or younger than 6 months old.

Skin irritation can happen from extended wear of a collar because of the stainless steel contact pins on the training collar.  Almost all dogs will show some type of irritation and redness (pressure necrosis) from extended contact of the steel ends. 

Please read this in your owner’s manual:

ATTENTION:

Avoid having your dog wear the training collar with the contact points in the same place for more than two hours at a time. Leaving the contact points on the same spot for an extended period of time can cause skin irritation. If your plan is to have your dog wear the collar for longer periods of time, then the collar needs to be repositioned so that the steel contact points are moved to a different area on the dog’s neck.

Proper Training collar use
Dogtra training collars and prong collars are meant for the single purpose of training a behavior in dogs. They are not intended for human use or use on other animals. Silver Creek LLC and The Dogtra Company does not assume any liability for improper use of the Dogtra e-collar, components or accessories or of the improper use of prong/pinch collars or any equipment purchased for use.  Any item can be improperly used causing injury or trauma.  Make sure you are aware of how to use any equipment you purchase and read the owner manuals, and any information sheet provided with the item you purchase to ensure safety.

Aggressive dogs
DO NOT use an electronic collar or prong/pinch collar on a dog that is aggressive with other dogs or people.  The dog that is aggressive associates the electronic stimulation or correction with the person or other dog and will be come even more agressive.  If you have this problem you need to contact a professional dog trainer for help.

Inadvertent activation
If the constant button is held down for 12 seconds or more the unit will automatically shut down. It will reactivate when the button is released

What kind of bark collar do you need? What kind of temperament does your dog have? Does your dog bark at anything it hears or just what it sees?  Does your dog continually bark or just at a neighbor dog when outside?These are all questions you need to consider when you are buying a anti bark collar.  Don't let someone try to sell you something you don't need or that is not good for your dog.

All dogs are different in size temperament and personality and not all citronella bark collars will work as well as not all sonic bark collar will work.  What all collars do is let your dog know when he barks something happens that he does not like and hopefully will deter him from barking again.

Citronella Spray Collars will spray a lemon-scent toward your dog's face whenever he barks. Some cheap collars have a microphone so are triggered by any nearby noise.  Make sure you spend the money to get a collar that is based on vibration so you are truely correcting your dog for his barking nuisance and not another dog.  Some dogs will respond to a sonic or tone only anti bark collar.  These emit a tone only the dog can hear whenever he or she barks.  This tone should cause them to stop barking when they hear the tone.
